Privacy Policy

Look, we get it - nobody actually reads these things, but we're gonna be straight with you about how we handle your info at Shadow Veil Born. We're not here to sell your data or spam you with junk. This is just about running a legit shop and keeping your ride's details secure.

When you bring your car in or reach out to us, we're gonna need some basics - your name, phone number, email, and address. Obviously we'll need your vehicle info too (make, model, VIN, all that). If you're booking online or paying by card, we'll collect payment details through secure processors.

We might also keep notes about your vehicle's service history, what work we've done, and any specific preferences you've mentioned. It helps us remember that you prefer a certain oil brand or that your Porsche doesn't like sitting idle for too long.

Our website uses standard cookies and analytics to see what pages people check out and how long they stick around - nothing creepy, just basic metrics to make the site work better.

Pretty straightforward here - we use your info to actually do the work you hired us for. That means scheduling appointments, ordering parts for your specific vehicle, sending you updates about your car's progress, and billing you when the job's done.

We'll also use it to reach out about recalls or issues we might've spotted during service. Like if we noticed your brake fluid's looking sketchy, we're gonna give you a heads up before it becomes a problem.

Sometimes we might send maintenance reminders or let you know about services that'd benefit your specific ride. If you don't want that, just tell us and we'll knock it off. No hard feelings.

For legal stuff - yeah, we gotta keep records for warranty claims, potential disputes, and meeting Canadian business regulations. Boring but necessary.

We're not selling your info to random marketing companies or data brokers. That's not our game.

We do share what's necessary with parts suppliers and specialty vendors when we're sourcing components for your build. They need to know what they're shipping and where it's going.

Payment processors get your financial info when you pay (obviously), but they've got their own security protocols and we don't store full card numbers here.

If you've got warranty work or insurance claims, we might need to share service records with manufacturers or insurance companies - but only what's relevant to the claim.

And yeah, if the law requires it (court orders, legal investigations, that kind of thing), we'll comply. We're not trying to be heroes and get in legal trouble over it.

We keep your info locked down with industry-standard encryption and secure servers. Our systems are password-protected and only staff who actually need access to do their jobs can get in.

Physical records are kept in secured areas of the shop - we're not leaving invoice copies laying around where anyone can grab 'em.

That said, nothing's 100% hack-proof these days. We do our best with reasonable security measures, but can't guarantee absolute protection against every possible breach. Just being real with you.

Under Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA specifically), you've got some rights here. You can ask to see what info we've got on you, request corrections if something's wrong, or ask us to delete your data entirely.

Keep in mind we might need to keep certain records for legal or warranty purposes even if you request deletion. But we'll delete what we can.

You can opt out of marketing emails anytime - there's an unsubscribe link in anything promotional we send. Won't affect your service records or appointment reminders though.

Want to update your contact info or preferences? Just give us a call at (604) 555-7839 or shoot an email to info@shadowveilborn.info. We'll sort it out.

Our site uses cookies - those little files that remember you're you when you come back. They help with basic stuff like keeping you logged into the customer portal and remembering what's in your quote request.

We use Google Analytics to see how people use the site - which pages get traffic, how long folks hang out, that kind of thing. It's anonymized data that just helps us make the site less annoying to use.

Your browser probably lets you block cookies if you want, but some features might not work right without 'em. Most people just leave them on but it's your call.

Service records and vehicle history? We keep those for at least 7 years - it's partly legal requirements and partly so we can reference past work if you come back with issues.

Basic contact info stays active as long as you're a customer. If you haven't brought your car in for a few years, we might archive your records but we won't just delete everything in case you roll back through.

Financial records get kept for tax and accounting purposes - again, legal requirement stuff. Usually 7 years minimum.

Marketing lists get cleaned up periodically. If you're not engaging with our emails or haven't been in for service in a long time, we'll eventually remove you from promotional stuff.

Sometimes we'll link to parts suppliers, manufacturers, or other automotive resources. Once you click through to their sites, you're on their turf and their privacy policies apply.

We try to only link to reputable places, but we can't control what they do with your info. Just something to keep in mind when you're clicking around.

We might update this policy from time to time - new laws come out, we add new services, technology changes. When we make significant updates, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.

If it's a major change that affects how we use your data, we'll try to give you a heads up via email. But honestly, it's worth checking back here occasionally if you care about this stuff.

Bottom line - we're a small shop that works on high-end rides. Your privacy matters because trust matters in this business. We're not trying to be shady with your data, we're just trying to fix cars and keep our customers happy. If you've got concerns, talk to us. We're not a faceless corporation hiding behind legal teams.
